Project 2 WIP

Continuing from previous project where the form and space division of the selected house are done, the task is to assign appropriate materials, furniture as well as pleasing lighting to the building and surrounding site context.

As a start off, the previous file is opened. Browsing through the net to get the appropriate building material texture is rather helpful as it gives a sense of realistic. under the material editor tab, I clicked on the bitmap box to import selected material, adjusted the setting, then assigned to selected surface.




The material assigned surface is converted to UVW Map to view the actual appearance of the building surface.



Same procedure goes for other materials.


However, as for windows and doors where I created using the 3Ds Max template, I imported the template preset for different layers of the one object where I could assign different material on separate elements.


Depending on the type of the object, I clicked on it to assign the materials.



After assigning the materials, I imported few furniture template which I downloaded from internet. Then, I dragged the surface texture found which is suitable to that particular furniture. Likewise, selecting that surface, I converted it into UVW map under modifier list. The furniture is scaled properly and placed inside the house using snap toggle.


About the site context, as for mine, the site is kind of simple with mud which I replaced with grasses(bitmap) and trees(photoshop in later).

Moving on next stage, daylight is set up using Daylight template. I placed the preferable direction of sunlight in which it can embrace the building itself.


To make the picture more realistic, I had assigned wallpaper of sky under environment and effects section using bitmap as well.

Next, lamps template were imported with free light being created under the lamp to gives the effect of light striking from it.

Moving on to last few steps, cameras of different angles were set up according to appropriate composition to ease the work of rendering.


Under render setup, the picture size is set to 1200 x 900 to have a higher resolution.
